Maurice to Discuss Ethics, Compliance at DCS 2013

Aug. 28, 2013 — Donald Maurice will discuss compliance issues for the financial services industry at DCS 2013 in Las Vegas, Nev. on Sept. 10, when he presents the DBA International seminar “Ethics as the Cornerstone of a Compliance Management System.”

The CFPB’s Larger Non-Bank Participant Rule and Service Provider Bulletin make a robust Compliance Management System critical to the success of participants in the consumer financial services industry. Maurice will explore the development and execution of a quality CMS for debt purchasers and debt collectors. Ethics Seminar to Provide DBA Credit

Aug. 6, 2013 — Donald Maurice will give a seminar on Aug. 12, entitled “Ethics as the Cornerstone of a Compliance Management System,” at the DBA International Executive Summit in Lake George, NY. Maurice will be presenting with Chris Lagow, deputy general counsel of Portfolio Recovery Associates.

Maurice and Lagow will explain how creditors can create a culture of compliance within their organization using tools that are already in their office. The seminar will provide members of DBA International with two credits toward DBA certification and will fulfill their ethics requirement.

Maurice to Speak at ABA Annual Meeting

Aug. 1, 2013 — Donald Maurice will speak at the annual meeting of the American Bar Association, Business Law Section, in San Francisco, Calif., on Aug. 10. He will be speaking with a panel of attorneys, including an official from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, about “The CFPB’s Amicus Program and Trends in Consumer Litigation.”
