Jacob “Jake” VanAusdall has extensive experience representing creditors in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, including plan negotiations, claim objections, and the defense of adversary proceedings. He also regularly advises clients in the receivable-based and alternative financing industries on protecting and enforcing their rights in complex restructuring environments, commercial collection litigation, and the defense of usury claims.
Additionally, he brings substantial litigation experience representing clients involved in intellectual property, construction, and judgment of domestication and enforcement. He also acts as outside counsel to various small and medium-sized businesses, providing tailored legal support and guidance to support their growth. Jake has been recognized as a “Mid-South Super Lawyers – Rising Star” in the areas of Business Litigation and Creditor’s Rights.
Jake earned his Juris Doctor from Tulane University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Mississippi. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Tennessee, the State of Missouri, the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Middle, and Eastern Districts of Tennessee, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the Receivables Management Association International (RMAI), the Receivables Based Financing Coalition (RBFC), and the Nashville Bar Association.
