Oct. 8, 2019 — Maurice Wutscher attorney Keith Wier will participate in a panel discussion on issues affecting the credit and collection industry at the 2019 Southwest ACA Conference and Expo in Irving, Texas, on Oct. 14.

The panel will discuss current trends in litigation as well as Texas’s new debt buyer legislation which took effect Sept. 1. The law limits when a debt buyer can initiate legal action or arbitration to collect consumer debt and prohibits revival of the statute of limitations once expired. It also requires specific notices with respect to out-of-statute debt.
