March 4, 2021 — Maurice Wutscher attorney Brent Yarborough will participate in a panel discussion of the new model validation notice for debt collection and what companies in the account receivables management industry can do to mitigate risk when using the notice during a webinar March 10 at 1 pm ET.

The model validation notice is included in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s final rule revising Regulation F, which implements the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). The rule becomes effective on Nov. 30.

Nov. 4, 2020 — The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau released its Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Oct. 22, seeking comment on 46 questions in nine categories surrounding consumer access to financial information under section 1033 of the Dodd-Frank Act.
