Sept. 8, 2022 — Maurice Wutscher bankruptcy practitioner Alan Hochheiser, chair of the ABA Business Law Section’s Consumer Bankruptcy Committee, will speak on recent developments in bankruptcy appellate case law during the ABA Business Law Hybrid Section Annual Meeting on Friday, Sept. 16, at 8 am ET.

Oct. 7, 2020 — Maurice Wutscher bankruptcy practitioner Alan Hochheiser has been appointed chair of the Consumer Bankruptcy Committee of the American Bar Association Business Law Section.

He will serve a three-year term on the committee whose mission is to provide a forum where those interested in all aspects of consumer bankruptcy can share ideas and influence statutory reform.

“As we face uncertainty in the consumer bankruptcy arena due to Covid-19, the committee looks forward to working with its members to confront the challenges that practitioners, courts and judges will be facing in the next year,” Mr. Hochheiser said. “The committee’s goal is to provide a forum for continued communication and learning to help advance the consumer bankruptcy practice. Aug. 3, 2020 ­— Maurice Wutscher attorney Brady Hermann is quoted in an AdvisorHub article regarding an investment company seeking a temporary restraining order against a departing advisor.

Given a recent uptick in recruiting and trade secret cases, Mr. Hermann explained, brokers “need to be extra cautious as to the information that they’re pulling, anything that they’re keeping, because firms are keeping track. If there’s even the slightest bit of evidence that they were using this working from home to gather client information in anticipation of an employment move, firms will use this to their advantage.”
