Sept. 12, 2024 — Maurice Wutscher attorneys Donald Maurice and Jake VanAusdall will speak on cybersecurity compliance and legislative and regulatory issues impacting the accounts receivable management industry at the ARMLaw conference in Nashville on Sept. 16.
Mr. Maurice will discuss the evolving landscape of consumer financial services compliance and give guidance on how to navigate state and federal regulations.
Mr. VanAusdall will review best practices for compliance with cybersecurity and data protection regulations.
ARMLaw is aimed at helping compliance and legal professionals involved in collections, consumer finance, debt buying, and fintech to understand trends in risk management, legal defense strategies, and complying with state and federal laws and regulations, while also providing an opportunity to network and share best practices with one another.

Donald Maurice represents the financial services industry, successfully litigating matters in appellate and trial courts throughout the country in individual and class actions and guiding businesses, trade associations and financial services companies nationwide in regulatory and compliance matters including data privacy and ethics. He has been retained as counsel for amicus curiae in the U.S. Supreme Court and in U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals, and frequently testifies before state legislatures. Mr. Maurice is outside counsel to RMAI, a regent of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers, and a fellow of the ABA’s American Bar Foundation. Jake VanAusdall is Senior Counsel in the Nashville office of Maurice Wutscher LLP. He represents clients in the financial services industry throughout litigation, trial, and appeal. He is admitted to the Tennessee Bar, United States District Courts for the Western, Middle, and Eastern District of Tennessee, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He is an active member of the Receivables Management Association International and the Revenue Based Finance Coalition.
